The founding price is the price you pay. Checkout shows that single price, in Australian dollars, with nothing added but shipping. Standard prices of $599 / $689 / $939 apply from unit 61. In between sits the early-adopter tranche (units 21–60) — its pricing isn't confirmed yet, and will be announced when the founding batch completes.
Paying in four — and why it still isn't a subscription.
At checkout you can split the total into 4 interest-free fortnightly payments with Afterpay ($112.25 for a $449 Shield Core), or pay with Zip. Then the payments end. That's the whole point — four payments and it's yours, and we're done charging you. A subscription never sends that last invoice.
The total is identical either way — splitting the payment never changes the price.
Your agreement is with Afterpay or Zip, on their terms and approval; the device, the 30-day home trial and the 12-month warranty come from us either way.

Shield Vault storage
Shield Vault ships with a 256 GB internal SSD, encrypted when you switch it on at first setup (it needs a passphrase and a recovery key only you hold). If you'd like 1 TB, 2 TB or 4 TB instead, capacity upgrades are quoted at fulfilment: choose your size after ordering and we'll confirm the upgrade and its price by email. We build each Vault by hand during the founding batch, so every one is made to spec.
